Martin’s story
Martin and his two brothers were looked after by the local authority. Martin knew that his brothers were going to be adopted, but hadn’t been given any more information about the adoption. Because he was worried about this, his behaviour became very bad and he almost lost his placement. He called his local advocacy service which helped him to write a letter to his social worker to ask for information about his brothers’ adoption. This helped Martin to feel better and his behaviour got better. If you would like information about how to have an advocate call the Young Person’s Freephone number on 0800 783 2187.
