Tuition fee concerns deter students 11th Nov 2011
Thousands of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are likely to shun going to university due to a lack of understanding about the new fees system, it is claimed today.

The Voice of the Child sub-group asked the Office of the Children’s Commissioner to undertake this consultation with children and young people so that their voices could be heard by the Family Justice Review team as they consider proposed improvements to the family justice system.

Runaways getting younger, says the Children’s Society 11th Jul 2011
A study by The Children’s Society published in 2005 found that one in six young runaways ended up sleeping rough, one in eight begged or stole and one in 12 was hurt or harmed as a direct result of running away.
It says its centres have recently reported seeing younger and runaways – some as young as eight.
